Carly really knows the ABC's well and all of the sounds...so I think I may move on from doing a letter per week and start doing sounds. She is so eager to read and since she already knows the sounds of all the letters I am going to skip the rest of the alphabet for her and start with vowel sounds. I will be using Explode the Code workbooks to help with this.


As far as Sam goes I will continue to do a shape and color per week, as well as counting and reviewing all the letters so he can become familiar with them.

Prep: Print of An Acorn Story, find pictures to go along with the story, find pictures for the Long A sound. Print off word strips with short A sound, try to find music with the Long A sound.
