Carly really knows the ABC's well and all of the sounds...so I think I may move on from doing a letter per week and start doing sounds. She is so eager to read and since she already knows the sounds of all the letters I am going to skip the rest of the alphabet for her and start with vowel sounds. I will be using Explode the Code workbooks to help with this.
As far as Sam goes I will continue to do a shape and color per week, as well as counting and reviewing all the letters so he can become familiar with them.

Worksheet for Sam: Color Shape
President David O. McKay (1873–1970): “[The] ability and willingness properly to rear children, the gift to love, and eagerness … to express it in soul development, make motherhood the noblest office or calling in the world. She who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions deserves the admiration and the plaudits of mankind; but she who rears successfully a family of healthy, beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, … deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God”

back in the saddle again....
We took a longer break than I thought. I am determined to get back into the swing of things. We returned home to a new house and a new schedule. Carly has started pre-school two days a week, which has been perfect but I still feel the need to do a little home-pre-schooling. I've changes some things around, I think it'll work smoother and it's much simpler. I will be doing it three days a week instead of five. I have cut out the math, the flashcard words, and the color of the week. Instead of doing a science and a social studies I will do one or the other on Tuesdays, art on Thursdays and the letter worksheet on Fridays. I am pumped to get started, let's hope I stay this pumped. I know Carly LOVES it and she will be thrilled once she realizes what we are doing again. So, on March 2 we will begin where we left off. The letter "H".
