President David O. McKay (1873–1970): “[The] ability and willingness properly to rear children, the gift to love, and eagerness … to express it in soul development, make motherhood the noblest office or calling in the world. She who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions deserves the admiration and the plaudits of mankind; but she who rears successfully a family of healthy, beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, … deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God”

My first post

I am feeling excited! I have wanted to start doing pre-school with my daughter for a long time but it always ended up in failure. I found myself getting frustrated due to the fact I was trying to incorporate too many subjects and activities. It was overwhelming.
I think now I have figured out an easy, simple and fun way to do pre-school with my daughter that we can both enjoy! My Sister-in-law homeschools her three boys and is a great example of how to teach from home. Now, I don't know what the future will bring and I may or may not homeschool my daughter but I can't escape that fact that I am her mother and I am responsible for her learning and growth and when the time comes for her to begin school (whether from home or not) I want her to be prepared academically and spiritually. I am doing a blog about it for my own record and so I can stay organized (and so I can be held accountable if I start to slack off)
Wish me luck!
